Animation in Primary Education.(Years 5 & 6).

Initial use of Digital Blue to support animal based plasticine animation

I Thought Let’s Animate!

Hi,

This Spring and Summer I have  been running a series of afternoon Animation Workshops using Digital Blue hardware and software in three Primary Schools in Havering. These have made a start with plasticine based animation on animal themes by Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.

I hope to build on my experiences and encourage my school and others to work towards submitting entries to the The National Schools Film & Animation  Award http://taglearning.com/awards.html

I have a website which showcases some of my and pupils earlier  Animals into Art Shape Poetry workshop work with Havering Primary and Junior Schools which has been run as a London Grid for Learning project. I have yet to upload the shape poetry work from  6 Waltham Forest Schools.

I intend in ,due course ,to post some of the best animation work  – yes there is some terrific work from Years 5 and 6 -from the Havering Schools which will thankfully replace the very rough and crude  temporary example in the Animation Egg.

Please feel free to contact me via the e mail address on the website , also given below, as I have to check and see if the forwarding is fully functional.
